All About Mrs. Selzer

Hi! My name is Jill Selzer and I am the full-time P.E. teacher at CWE. This will be my 12th year of teaching physical education. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Physical Educaton and minor in History. My husband, Scott, and I moved to Georgia in the summer of 2001 and I began my teaching career at Northwestern Middle school. I taught at NMS for three years, prior to transferring to Cogburn Woods.

My teaching philosophy is to provide developmentally appropriate instruction that allows students to work on their physical, cognitive, and personal-social skills, while encouraging the importance of physical activity over a lifetime.

In 2007, I received the Fulton County Elementary P.E. Teacher of the Year award, which was a professional highlight for me. The other P.E. teachers and I strive to maintain a strong P.E. program here at CWE.

On a personal note...I have been blessed with two wonderful daughters. Haylie is a 4th grader at Silver City Elementary in Forsyth county and Hope is in Pre-K.

I love watching college football and I am a huge MICHIGAN fan, I grew up going to their games with my dad. It should be interesting to see the Wolverines take on Alabama in a few weeks. ;) However, I'm lovin' me some SEC football as well...I do live in Georgia..how could I not?! My favorite sport to play is volleyball. Also, being active with my family is what brings me the greatest joy!

All About Coach Brown

I was born and raised in Alpharetta. I graduated from Milton High School. After high school, I went to Georgia Southern University where I got a degree in Health and Physical Education. My wife, Tera was born and raised ten minutes down the road from me. We have three children. Blake is a 6th grader, Brooke is a 5th grader, and Bo is five years old and full of energy. We are BULLDAWG FANS. We love to hunt, fish, ride four wheelers, and watch NASCAR. I am currently teaching PE at Cogburn Woods and Birmingham Falls. I am thankful to be a part of Fulton County Schools, and thankful to have a job. I look forward to working with your child and getting to know all the students.
